Hi! Sarah here. I am going to be super honest with you. I don’t really like to make cookies. I don’t think my mom does either – she certainly didn’t keep us supplied with cookies when I was little. Cookies are, after all, quintessential comfort food. The problem for me, though, is that cookies are usually labor intensive. If I am going to put that much work into a dessert, I’ll just make cake or pie or a creme brulee or something else. But, whoa, friend, say Hello to Krusteaz cookies! Labor over cookies NO MORE! Besides they are delicious and make TERRIFIC GIFTS. Cookie Day Giveaway with Krusteaz. However, problems can happen, and I’ll cover that here too.
So, anyway, cookies. I think cookies are kind of a pain to make from scratch. Can I get an amen? There are always a ton of ingredients to get out of the cabinet and a bunch of dishes to wash. Seriously, scratch made cookies are a lot of work. Store bought cookies- either the kind you make yourself or the already made ones have never tasted too good to me either. Until……. until……. I went to the IFBC conference with my mom and we met the folks from Krusteaz. They were like an ongoing cookie party! Those folks! Seriously, everywhere we went, there they were with all of their cute ideas and crafts and YUMMY COOKIES! They even put cute little cookies in our hotel room on the first night of the conference! WHAT? yes! They did!
So, here is what I have learned, there are cookies and then, there are COOKIES! Krusteaz cookies are simple to make – just add an egg and butter and you CAN NOT MESS THEM UP. I made batch after batch after batch. No mess ups. See this pile of cookies on the table?
And the best part, you can do it too! AND HELLO, BONUS,TODAY is COOKIE DAY! So everything is right with the universe! We made every single box of cookies we were sent. They were all DELICIOUS!
Krusteaz invited Loaves and Dishes to participate and be part of their COOKIE DAY bakers!! Now, let me say, Krusteaz was nice enough to send boxes upon boxes of FREE cookie mix in order to do this cookie day post. So, even though some bad stuff happened to the cookies along the way, there are PLENTY left! Krusteaz included a wonderful red apron, a shopping bag, an icing pen, a gift card to Zazzle so that we could package up the cookies in a super cool way and some really cute snowflake cookie cutters. So cute! Thank you so much Krusteaz! I hope that you will help say thank you by visiting their website and social media sites listed below. ‘Cause guess what? They have a pretty cool gift for you too! Check out the rafflecopter. I hope you win!
But now because I am always looking out for your best interests, I have to share with you the only ways that you can mess up your cookie count with Krusteaz. Avoid the pitfalls that I fell in. It is a three fold issue that involves 1. Getting involved in other stuff while baking – SET A TIMER. 2. Dogs, enough said 3. Teenagers running through the house who don’t understand that the cookies aren’t for them!
HERE ARE THE ONLY WAYS TO MESS UP KRUSTEAZ COOKIES ON COOKIE DAY….
DO NOT EVER LEAVE THE DOGS ALONE WITH COOLING COOKIES!
You can mess them up if you leave them cooling too close to the edge of the kitchen counter where these guys and gals can eat some.
TEENAGERS WILL EAT KRUSTEAZ COOKIES!
NOW YOU KNOW THE POSSIBLE PITFALLS for the COOKIE DAY GIVEAWAY WITH KRUSTEAZ, SO HERE IS THE FUN STUFF!!
And now, Krusteaz is hosting a TON more fun! Guess how we are going to use these cookies? A month ago or so, my mom recruited about 10 people (families) to help be the “eaters” for Loaves and Dishes. My mom, sister and Mark can’t possibly eat all of the food my mom prepares for the website – and rumor has it, she is working on a cookbook – even more food that has to be tested! (shhhh she told me not to tell). Richie and I aren’t done with school yet so we aren’t here to help. Anyway, mom has a group of people she sends a text message to whenever she has extra food that my family won’t be able to eat. These cool people volunteer to come by and get the dishes of food!! Aren’t they great?? I thought of a name for them, “The Food Babies”. I bet some of them have a food baby after eating my mom’s cooking!
Anyway, mom wanted a way to thank them and now, thanks to Krusteaz and their Cookie Day Bakers gift, we will be able to give cookies to our Food Babies for Cookie Day. Cool, eh? Sometimes, things just work out!
