HI! I’m Wendi Spraker and this is Loaves and Dishes. This website started as a passionate hobby for Southern Comfort Food in 2014 and has turned into so much more. I’ve been mastering southern comfort food recipes and cooking techniques for over 40 years **screams and faints***. Now, through this website, I’m sharing what I’ve learned with you!
Professionally, I am a Registered Nurse holding a Master’s Degree and a specialized certification, which actually means nothing in terms of this website. However, working full time while earning a master’s and being a single mom means that I can write efficiently and effectively. Plus, you’ll know that where ever you are in your cooking journey, I’ve probably been there too.
These days, my children are grown and I only work in nursing part time. Personally, I like playing with my grandchild. Then there’s arguing with my dogs (pugs are stubborn, I’m not. lol. ) and mastering new southern comfort food recipes.
While I make plenty of mistakes (did you see the photos of my strawberry cake that crumbled into ruins?), I share those with you so that you don’t make the same ones!
I’ll help you get LOADS of flavor into your southern comfort food dishes and anyone sitting at your table will exclaim, “HOLY COW! That is GOOD!”.
