Cocktail Sauce

Equipment

  • 1 medium size bowl
  • 1 whisk
  • measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup chili sauce
  • 1 Tbs prepared horseradish
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp hot sauce or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp fish sauce optional
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper

Instructions

  • mix all the ingredients together in a medium sized bowl
  • refrigerate for at least an hour to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • There really aren't that many tips and tricks because all you really need to do is to mix it all together.
  • Mix with a spoon but if you have it, a whisk will work much better.
  • Be sure to refrigerate for an hour so that the flavors can work together better.
Substitutions
Horseradish - be sure to use the regular horseradish and not the creamed horseradish. If all you have is the creamed, use to taste.
Lemon Juice - it's possible to substitute lime juice instead, fresh lemon juice or the bottled lemon juice.
Hot Sauce - You'll want to use something like Texas Pete rather than a Franks type Wing Sauce
Fish Sauce - totally optional but adds a bang of flavor to your sauce.
