  • bowl or tray x 2
  • microwave
  • baking sheet with parchment paper

  • 12 oz chocolate chocolate almond bark or candy melts work too.
  • 24 oreos
  • 3 candy canes crushed

  • Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • In a bowl, microwave the chocolate on high for 2 minutes. Stir. Repeat in 1 minute intervals until melted and glossy.
  • Dip 1/3 - 2/3 of the oreo in the chocolate and lay on the prepared baking sheet on top of the parchment paper.
  • Sprinkle the wet chocolate with crushed candy cane pieces.
  • Let chocolate harden before moving.

  • Ive made these with both chocolate chips and with melting chocolate candy and prefer the candy type coating. It melts well, hardens quickly and the toppings stick easily to it.
  • Coating the oreos works best if you have a shallow tray or plate to put the chocolate in and then roll the oreo in the chocolate.
  • The same works for the topping, place it on a plate and then sprinkle on the topping.
  • It's easiest to only coat the top 1/3 of the oreo, but people seem to like oreos with about 2/3 dipped in chocolate.
  • Lay these on a sheet of parchment paper or wax paper to cool and allow the chocolate to harden completely.
  • The little plastic bags that are for individually wrapping cookies make a suitable cover for the oreos.
