Best Cheesy Chicken Submarine Sandwich Recipe (Easy)

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbs butter
  • 4 Cups shredded chicken
  • 4 oz cream cheese cut into 1" pieces
  • ½ cup chicken stock
  • ¾ Cups Franks Buffalo Hot Sauce
  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • Blue cheese - optional topping

Instructions

  • 1 Preheat the oven to broil. Place parchment paper on a baking sheet.
  • Spread butter thinly across the inner surface of the hoagie rolls and place onto the baking sheet. Bake under broiler for 1 minute or until the inner surface of the roll is slightly browned and crunchy. Remove from the oven and set aside. Reduce the oven heat to 350.
  • In a skillet on the stovetop over medium heat, melt the butter and add the cream cheese. Add the chicken to the skillet and the chicken stock.
  • Reduce the heat to low and add the Franks hot sauce and sharp cheddar cheese. Mix well until the cheese melts (a minute or two).
  • Apply mayo to the toasted bun if desired.
  • Spread the chicken mixture onto the toasted hoagie roll and sprinkle with blue cheese if desired. Place into the oven and allow the provolone cheese to melt (a minute or two).
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle the top with the blue cheese crumbles and hot sauce.
