Recently, a coffee shop in Rhode Island has gone mega-viral on TikTok. I have been OBSESSED with watching their videos. Most recently they have released a new Cherry Vanilla Syrup and I thought it could be easily made at home! This cherry syrup is amazing and I can't wait to try it on everything!

Over the summer I really enjoyed having flavored syrups around the house for coffee, cocktails, and sodas! Cherry Vanilla Syrup would be the perfect syrup for an ice-cold coke. There are many other uses for flavored syrups

  • Sodas
  • Coffee
  • Tea
  • Matchas
  • Pancakes
  • Ice cream

To name a few!

How to make Cherry Vanilla Syrup

Ingredients for Cherry Vanilla Syrup

Making a simple syrup is...well...simple! Simple syrup is made of two ingredients, water and sugar in equal parts.

From there we can add just about any flavoring you want! For the cherry vanilla simple syrup, we are going to use frozen cherries but you could use fresh ones if you can find them. Fresh cherries can be hard to find so frozen is generally cheaper and easier to find.

The best part about making flavored simple syrup: combine all the ingredients in one pot, simmer for 20 minutes, and enjoy! They really are simple!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 12 oz Frozen Cherries
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  • Add water, sugar, and cherries to a saucepan
  • cook over medium heat for 20 minutes
  • Remove from the heat, and strain the mixture
  • Add the vanilla extract and mix
  • Pour syrup into an air tight container and store in the fridge for up to two weeks

Notes

  • If you can find fresh cherries you can use those rather than frozen.  For this recipe, I think that frozen works just fine because we aren't really doing anything with the cherries except extracting flavor.
  • This syrup would be excellent on or in any number of things!  Teas, coffees, sodas, ice cream, pancakes, you name it!
  • You can get fancy with your vanilla extract here and you can add more if you want more vanilla flavor.
