Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

How Do I Fold the Wonton

It's easy and will work just about any way you choose to fold. Watch the video linked below to see how I do it. The important part is to wet the edges with water and then seal with your fingers.

How Much Filling Do I Add?

Less is more where the wonton is concerned! About a teaspoon is what is going to work.

How Can I Make the Wonton More Crispy?

Spray with extra cooking spray OR brush with oil or butter.

Tips and Tricks

  • The most important tip is to avoid overfilling the wonton. It's so easy to do. Only put about a teaspoon of filling in the wonton before sealing it up.
  • Fish sauce sounds so gross but it is really a key ingredient! It adds an undeniable punch of flavor that will have everyone saying "Why is this so GOOD?"
  • You can seal the wonton several ways, watch the video below to see how I did it. But you can bring the middle centers together too and that will work.
  • Make sure to use water to help the wonton to stick together.
  • You can find a ton of information on wontons here.

PRO TIP: You'll notice that the video calls these "rangoons" and we are calling them Wontons in this article, that's just a matter of saying things a bit differently.

Would thinly sliced chipped beef work if addd to the filling? I like meat. Just thinking out loud.

It would work, but that isn't the usual flavor profile in wontons. If you give it a try, I would love to know what happens.
