You CAN freeze this, but please do it this way...

  1. Add everything together EXCEPT the cream cheese and milk.
  2. Place into a zip lock freezer type bag, squeeze out as much air as possible.
  3. Label and place into the freezer for up to 3 months.

To fix this dish after being frozen, thaw the chicken slider mix, place it in a pan with the melted cream cheese and milk and stir till heated through.

How Long Do these Chicken Sliders Keep?

  • The chicken slider mix will last about 5 days in the refrigerator if kept covered.
  • Do not allow to sit out for longer than 2 hours.

Either is fine! Both are delicious!

  2. A healthier option might be this Southwest chipotle chicken salad and chicken sliders with best ever fruit dip and fruit skewers for dessert.
  3.  Let your imagination run WILD!

TIPS & TRICKS for These Chicken Sliders

  • Use a small scoop to put the chicken on the sliders, it goes faster that way.
  • You can amp up the flavor by melting some butter with italian seasoning in it and brushing it on the bun tops then warming in the oven slightly.
  • This is also good used as a dip for veggies or crackers and chips.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

  • Sub out different types of cooked chicken. Just chop or shred it well.
  • See the post for a full list of potential substitutions and additions, this recipe is VERY versatile.
  • If you are concerned about the heat, leave off the tomatoes and green chilis and just use one can of chopped green chilis and add one small chopped tomato.

PRO TIP:

When shredding a chicken, it is usually easiest to place the meat on a cutting board and use two back to back forks pulling away from each other in the meat. This makes a nice and easily eaten shred.

A VERSE TO SHARE

This weekend I spent a great deal of time at the zoo with my family. A lot of families of many different colors and backgrounds were there.

I saw and heard some unkindnesses. We can do better, people.

We share this planet and it is our home together. Let’s just call each other “brother” or “sister” or “friend”, whatever the case may be.

Ephesians 4:29

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

I'm eating this as I type...delicious and so easy to make! I made it exactly as written, using a rotisserie chicken and low fat cream cheese. I was afraid it would be spicy (I'm a wimp) with the Rotel and green chilis, but it was perfect! Thanks for an awesome recipe. I'm so glad I stumbled upon your website!

Hi Cheryl! Thanks so much for coming back and leaving me a comment! I hope you'll find TONS of other recipes that you are looking for! You are RIGHT - it really isn't that spicy considering how spicy you might think it is! If you enjoyed this, you might also like the Buffalo Chicken dip. Its good and easy and not spicy, but when you look at the ingredients, you'll be worried that it might be. The last time I made it, my family gobbled it down and then didn't have an appetite for dinner (and they are GROWN!). lol. Have a good one!

It’s a delicious recipe but even with the explanation, I am troubled by the name. Since the description is offensive and something one should NEVER call someone, it seems quite inappropriate and even wrong to use it for the title and description of the recipe, especially in light of the scripture that was referenced. This really troubled me.

Hi Barb. I appreciate that you care enough to leave me a comment. That means a lot to me. I was hoping that everyone would see that I meant the title and description in jest (in that the recipe ingredients are common and plain but when put together they pack a bang and are quite delicious).
