Special Equipment

You won’t need any special equipment at all, but a high quality non stick pan is the best for making eggs. Personally I like a well seasoned cast iron pan like a Lodge Skillet. I do have a 10″ Hexclad non stick skillet that I enjoy.

Right now, Amazon doesn’t have any in stock, but this pan would work just as well and is high quality. I’ve used mine for about 4 years without any breakdown of the non stick surface.

Here’s How It’s Done

  • Scramble your eggs
  • Add your seasonings
  • If you like the PRO TIP – then add some shredded cheese.

What Do I Need to Know about Old Bay

There are just a few tips that you really need to know about Old Bay Seasoning.

  • It’s really meant as a seafood seasoning and some people associate it only with seafood and therefore, they may think your eggs taste like crabs.
  • Old Bay can be really salty so only add salt once you’ve tasted the eggs and determined that’s what they need.
  • Some folks believe Old Bay is a little spicy. Taste your eggs before adding pepper.
  • Put the Old Bay container on the table for folks to add more if they want.

Tips and Tricks

  • For perfect eggs, you might want to check out this video over on your YouTube channel or you can even microwave these eggs and you can find that here.
  • Do NOT add the Old Bay while you are scrambling the eggs because this turns the eggs to an off colored orange that is unappealing.
  • For more flavor see the pro tip below.
  • Always figure 2 eggs per person when scrambling eggs and then add one more for the pan. So 2 people would be 2 eggs + 2 eggs +1 for the pan = 5 eggs.
  • For perfect eggs, remove the eggs from the heat before they are completely finished cooking, have the plates warming in a toaster oven or the warming drawer of the stove and the eggs will finish cooking while sitting on the plate.

PRO TIP: For extra delicious eggs, add some shredded cheddar to the eggs as they finish cooking.

  • 1/4 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1 pinch black cracked pepper

Instructions

  • Melt Butter in a skillet on the stove top over medium heat.
  • While butter is melting, crack the eggs into a medium sized bowl. Be sure to remove any pieces of the shell that may have fallen into the eggs. Whisk briskly until the eggs is completely uniform in color and add to the warm pan.
