How Long To Cook Bacon in a Toaster Oven

You'll want to set your toaster oven on 400 degrees and cook for 9 minutes for standard thickness bacon, center cut.

If you are using thick sliced bacon or if you bought the inexpensive bacon that is very thin, the cooking times may vary. Thick bacon will take longer, thin stringy bacon will cook more quickly.

What Temperature to Cook Bacon in a Toaster Oven

You'll want to cook your bacon at 400 degrees in the toaster oven for about 9 minutes.

How Do I Get Crispy Toaster Oven Bacon

Crispy toaster oven Bacon is achieved by keeping your bacon separated in the pan to allow air to circulate while it is cooking.

Cook the bacon long enough (about 9 minutes).

Should I Use an Air Fryer or Toaster Oven

If you have a toaster oven, it's just as effective to cook crispy bacon in the toaster oven as it is to make it in the air fryer.

Using an air fryer may or may not cook your bacon more quickly but it won't make it more crispy.

Is Regular or Thick Cut Best when Making Toaster Oven Bacon

You'll find that regular cut bacon (especially the center cut) will make the most crispy and most evenly cooked bacon.

Thicker bacon takes longer to bake in the toaster oven and is more difficult to get crispy.

Do I Need to Cover with Foil to Prevent Spatters

There's no need to cover the bacon with foil. The bacon really doesn't spatter, the grease will run into the pan. Be careful when removing the bacon because the grease will be HOT!

Tips and Tricks for Perfect Toaster Oven Bacon

  • Use regular thickness, center cut bacon for the best results.
  • Thin bacon will cook more quickly, so check it sooner
  • Thick bacon will take longer, check it often after the 9 minute mark.
  • Grease accumulate in the bottom of the pan, be careful removing it from the oven because the grease will be hot and it can burn you.
  • For great taste, add some spices or sugar to your bacon for great flavor!
  • Line the tray with aluminum foil for quick clean up.
  • Allow the grease to harden before trying to remove the aluminum foil to discard.
  • Save the grease for cooking with later! Bacon grease adds terrific flavor to many dishes!
  • If you do not have a rack for your toaster oven, no worries! Simply lay the bacon on aluminum foil and bend the edges up so that the grease will not drip out of the foil. Place the little foil tray you have made into the toaster oven.
