Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)...

How Do I Add EVEN MORE lemon flavor to my Cake Glaze Recipe?

Add MORE lemon Zest! This way you won’t water down your glaze and the bright citrus pop will be there!

PRO TIP:  Add a little more lime zest and you won’t be disappointed!

My Cake Glaze Recipe Seems TOO THIN, What Do I Do?

If your glaze is too thin, just add a little more powdered sugar and stir. Do this until it is as thick as you prefer.

Remember, it will thicken slightly after you put it on the cake.

What Is the Difference in an Icing and a Glaze?

Icing is thicker than Glaze. Glaze is poured onto the cake and may stiffen slightly but won’t ever harden all the way.

How Do I Put This Glaze On my Buttermilk Cake?

Watch the video below and you’ll see footage of me pouring it on a cake! OOoo, makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

Pouring it on is the best way.

Should A Mirror Glazed Cake Be Refrigerated?

Yes, keep a mirror glazed cake in the fridge covered with plastic wrap and make sure the wrap doesn’t touch the glaze.

How Do I Make a Frosting Glaze?

Put your frosting in the microwave for about 10 seconds and then whip it very well. Spread it on the cake and refrigerate covered with plastic wrap. Do not allow the plastic wrap to touch the glaze.

How Do I Make a Frosting For a Cake At Home?

If you follow the recipe given below, you will have a nice light cake glaze for your home made cake.

TIPS & TRICKS for Cake Glaze Recipe

  • Mix up the glaze and then let it sit for a little bit to thicken slightly before pouring on the cake.
  • To keep the glaze more thick, make sure the cake is cooled all the way first.
  • Want a little trick for a yummy base to your cake? Before turning the cake over onto the plate poke some smaller holes in the bottom of your cake (with a fork) and then slowly pour a little of the glaze into the holes. YUM!
  • The glaze will seem very difficult to stir and mix together at first, just keep stirring, it will loosen up.
  • To add more lemony flavor to your glaze, add MORE zest, that’s where the true flavor is!
  • The pinch of salt added to your glaze perks up the flavor.

PRO TIP:  If you enjoy the lemon and lime flavor together, next time try a little orange zest for a great triple threat!

PRO TIP:  For glaze with zip, substitute buttermilk for the melted butter in the recipe. Gives a deep satisfying tang to the glaze.

A VERSE TO SHARE

Today I'm thinking about an upcoming farewell in my life, it made me look into Bible Verses that wish someone well, here's what I found that really speak to me..

Numbers 6: 24-26

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace

3 John: 1-2

Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul

Galatians 5: 22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law
