Chick Fil A Sauce Ingredients (at home)

ingredients on table
  • Barbecue Sauce – You can use your favorite, but we use Sweet Baby Rays because I know it has the right balance of flavors (plus, I could darn near drink it too).
  • Yellow Mustard – For the tang.
  • Liquid Smoke – well, for the smoke.
  • Mayonnaise – I’m using Hellmans, but I don’t want to start the Mayo war, so use what you got, just use a real mayo and a good one.
  • Salt – It gives it that pizazz, no joke.

Chick Fil A Sauce From Scratch – It’s Easy!

  1. Add the ingredients to a medium sized mixing bowl.
  2. Mix well with a whisk (or a fork if you are feeling muscular).
  3. Allow to rest in the fridge for a few hours.
  4. Enjoy this copycat recipe!

What’s the Best Sauce at Chick Fil A?

The house chick fil a sauce is the best if you ask me, but many people also enjoy the Polynesian sauce too.

Is This a Copycat Chick Fil A Sauce?

Yes, of course. They didn’t give me their secret recipe, but I think this is about as close as you can get.

What Is Chick Fil A Sauce?

It’s the house sauce at the restaurant. It’s a yellow honey mustard color with a little extra something something added in. We think we’ve cracked the code.

How Long Does This Last?

This will last covered in the fridge for about 5 days.

Can I Freeze This Sauce?

No, unfortunately, it has mayo in it and doesn’t freeze well. It’s no problem to whip up a fresh batch though, so that’s a bonus.

What Goes With Chick Fil A Sauce?

The better question is, what doesn’t go with chick fil a sauce? Ummmm….. hmmmm….. I wouldn’t put it on jello. Well, maybe.

Tips and Tricks

  • You’ll really need a whisk to make this come out perfectly.
  • This recipe makes about 1/2 cup, which is enough for a couple of people, but you may want to double the recipe for 3 or more people or if you want to put some in the fridge to use on other things.
  • This makes a terrific salad dressing and taco topping.
  • Be super careful with the liquid smoke, it’s a powerful substance.
  • The liquid smoke gives this recipe the little extra something that it needs, but if you can’t find it or don’t have any, leave it off and you will still have a very good sauce.
  • I use Sweet Baby Rays basic barbecue sauce, but feel free to try a different kind.
  • A less flavorful mayo works best here. Something like Hellmans or Aldi brand is best.
  • You’ll want to use a good dijon mustard here.
  • Allow the sauce to sit for at least 5 minutes but overnight is even better as this allows time for the flavors to really meld.

A Verse to Share

Did you ever wonder about that founding verse, “For God so loved the WORLD“?

I mean, he doesn’t just love me….. or you, for that matter.

He loves the whole wide world. Every nation. Every person. He gave His only begotten son for that world.

I’m thinking about this today.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
